The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco

Borrowed (and at the last minute, copied) from the library!  Unfortunately, the Netflix movie was cracked and we were unable to watch it, so we'll have to catch Sean Connery another time.  Curse you, Netflix!

Yummy crackers and prosciutto cheese wheel thingies!  Prosciutto is Italian, right?

Delicious green pea salad from Mr. D's.  A delicious accompaniment to the pizza!

We love the ambiance of a November fire!

Four of seven joined in great conversation that included the comment,
"Only I can sleep with that celibate man!"

Let the Great World Spin, by Colum McCann

Must. Get. Wine. Open.

The vessels, the elixer, and just a peek of the loaf.  Book club - hurray!

I believe the final incarnation of the toast was, "Here's to the onset of Autumn!"

Sally's delicious chili, and Stacey's artful arrangement of her dinner.

Amazing how an Irishman can so convincingly portray New York women on the stroll, eh?

Gritty, to be sure, but engrossing.  We loved this book.

An early birthday celebration for Stacey - white cake with white frosting!  Next month, strawberry!

We love Sally's collection of past-reads!

The Scenic Route, by Binnie Kirshenbaum

Only three of the six who gathered actually read the book.  The other three, who shall remain nameless, abandoned the book in favor of the scenic route to other adventures.  Slackers!  UPDATE 6-15-11:  I finished reading the book!  Only two of the group are now slackers.  What a relief.

Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand

From the library or the bookstore, on CD or Kindle, this book absorbed us.

There's nothing quite like Tony's pizza, straight from the oven.  Yum!

Can't you almost smell it?  I'm a little obsessed - sad, but true.

Yes!  We finally got to consume the bottle we carted around for over a year!
